Without wanting to sound needlessly critical as a being. As I look back over my life…decades. I think I have answered many questions the wrong way.
What we want ‘do‘ is not nearly as important as what we want to ‘be’. The longer I am alive the more significant this ‘being’ becomes.
It’s possible to do lots of things yet be zilch as a ‘being’ because our ‘doing’ is usually connected with a vocation or a career and earning a living.

‘Being’ is much deeper. It relates to character, who we are and how we make a life.
‘Doing’ is tied in closely with activity, accomplishments and obtaining tangible things. Much like the salary we make, the roles we carry and the recognition we receive for our good behaviors, good choices and because of winnings.
‘Being’ on the other hand has more to do with intangibles, the kind of people we become deep down inside, much of which can’t be measured by objective or even by awards.
Another person’s goals for us or their challenges they have presented to us to achieve on their behalf versus our own goals and achievements.
Whatever You Do
Whatsoever you do…whatever you do….
Let every detail in your lives – words, actions, whatever – be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
Work from the heart for your real Master, for God,
Make no difference what it is whatever you do but, then He immediately addresses things that have to do with ‘being’. ‘Being’ thankful, being considerate, being obedient, being sincere and being diligent.
Are you giving thought these days to thing that truly count? Goal setting and achieving is important especially when it keeps us motivated. Moving in the right direction is a great way to break the mold of mediocrity.
Do and Be
- What do I want to do?
- What do I want to be?
Listen to your heart, your inner spirit. The true treasures will emerge from deep inside you. Don’t tell anybody just concentrate sometime and attention on your own goal. That goal you have set for yourself and watch God work. You will be amazed how He arranges our circumstances so that the very goal you set for yourself and to yourself will begin to take shape within you.
Sometimes it will be painful and other times it will be sheer joy!
Then I took a good look at everything I’d done, looked at all the sweat and hard work. But when I looked, I saw nothing but smoke. Smoke and spitting into the wind. There was nothing to any of it. Nothing.
Then I observed all the work and ambition motivated by envy. What a waste! Smoke. And spitting into the wind.
Be cheerful no matter what;
