What is it about being dead or alive that really matters to you more than the other?
Eventually all our friends and family will be dead, leaving us with this same fact that we must face and that our death will eventually come to pass to.
What have you regretted not doing when it has come to another person’s unexpected death?
Signs To Look For In Aging
There are some signs we can see along life’s journey that suggest we are entering the transition.
We now huff and puff and cannot blow the house down.
We prefer to sit more than we want to stand.
Our mental minds long for relief as we wither.
We no longer remember like we used to and we don’t respond like we ought to.
We start thinking more about yesterday and tomorrow versus our present day.
Our emotions are like roller coasters we undergo strange fears and feelings.
We feel unwanted and in the way, forgotten, unloved and lonely.
We are thinking that we are no longer self-sufficient, and capable and we need assistance. This thinking will sentence you to a prison cell of self-pity, depression, uselessness, and even grief.
Growing old has its difficulties and heartaches that is for sure.
Gray hair is a mark of distinction, the award for a God-loyal life.
lithe and green, virile still in old age
And I’ll keep on carrying you when you’re old. I’ll be there, bearing you when you’re old and gray. I’ve done it and will keep on doing it, carrying you on my back, saving you.
Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
Dead Or Alive?
That makes you how old?
Who would know how old you are getting if you didn’t show any signs?
You’ve gone past me so many times.
My root system is your doing.
Are you secure enough or will it take a storm to take you out?
I’m only here for so long.
I’m still present yet you do nothing.
I’ve made a way.
You can get by.
But only for so long.
What will you do when I’m gone?
Will I be in your way still?
Soon I will be forgotten because you can’t see me anymore,
But deal well with me, O Sovereign Lord, for the sake of your own reputation! Rescue me because you are so faithful and good. For I am poor and needy, and my heart is full of pain . I am fading like a shadow at dusk; I am brushed off like a locust. My knees are weak from fasting, and I am skin and bones. I am a joke to people everywhere; when they see me, they shake their heads in scorn. Help me, O Lord my God! Save me because of your unfailing love. Let them see that this is your doing, that you yourself have done it, Lord. Then let them curse me if they like, but you will bless me! When they attack me, they will be disgraced! but I, your servant, will go right on rejoicing! May my accusers be clothed with disgrace; may their humiliation cover them like a cloak. But I will give repeated thanks to the Lord, praising him to everyone. For he stands beside the needy, ready to save them from those who condemn them.
Praise the Lord! Let all that I am praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever. He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts those who are weighted down. The Lord loves the godly. The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. The Lord will reign forever. He will be your God, O Jerusalem, throughout the generations. Praise the Lord!
Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. He was despised and rejected a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we though his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one card that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and intercede for rebels.
Dead definition, no longer living; deprived of life: dead people; dead flowers; dead animals. Emotionless, unemotional, unfeeling, impassive, unresponsive, insensitive, indifferent, etc.
